Do you need a Covid test to fly to Canary Islands/Tenerife?

As the UK and many other countries face the third wave of COVID-19, many countries have introduced new and more stringent travel restrictions, including Tenerife and other Canary Islands. The Canary Islands is a Spanish autonomous community and amid the current Covid-19 pandemic, Spain has taken a number of steps to allow travellers and holidaymakers to enter the country safely, reducing the risk of spreading Covid-19.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR CANARY ISLANDS & TENERIFE

Currently, all travellers arriving into the Canary Islands/Tenerife must go through a health inspection, which varies depending on your origin destination. At the moment, the UK is currently a high-risk area and so, travellers arriving to the Canary Islands/Tenerife from the UK must follow the below requirements.

Arrivals from the UK to the Canary Islands/Tenerife must complete the Spanish Health Form. This must be filled in and signed before your travel to the Canary Islands. All arrivals from high-risk areas, such as the UK, must have proof of a negative PCR test (COVID-19 not detected), taken in the 72 hours prior to arrival in the Canary Islands. Travellers can get tested with Nomad Travel and will receive a certificate for travel to support a negative result.

All arrivals into the Canary Islands/Tenerife must undertake a health check on arrival at the airport. This will consist of a temperature check and a visual check for the absence of symptoms.

PCR TEST & CERTIFICATE FOR TRAVEL

Travellers are requested to undertake a private COVID-19 test and not use NHS resources for travel purposes. Testing must be completed no more than 72 hours before you fly to the Canary Islands/Tenerife. Travellers can get tested with Nomad Travel and will receive a certificate for travel to support a negative result.

When travelling to the Canary Islands/Tenerife individuals are also required to download Spain’s Radar COVID notification app. This app must be used for the entirety of your stay in the Canary Islands/Tenerife and for 15 days after you leave.
